Computer problem please help!?

so my computer made funny smells like plastic burning and i decided it was time for a dusting. so i unscrewed the heatsink and now the backing plate is slideing around behind my motherboard and i can not get to it without takeing it all appart. i gorilla glued the heatsink to the proccessor. will this be ok? will it hold it down? i also reapplied thermal paste cuz the manufacturer's paste was old and not very pastee anymore. the backing plate is still lose behinf the motherboard. will this cause problems? also i did not glue the heatsink directly to the motherboard, i glue down the black thing that the heatsink attaches itself to. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up to complete this question.
