Where can I download a FREE video program for AMV's?

I love to make AMV's and I've been using WMM for like 4 years now. I hate that program so much. It crashes every time I'm in the middle of a project, some of the effects don't work when published, and when I try to add a downloaded video to a project it leaves half of the screen green. I don't know how to explain to you that any further it is what it is. Do you know any GOOD FREE programs I can download online? And I don't want any viruses either, I'm trusting you guys -___-
